Burrendong outflows remain steady
8 December 2010 – 1:30PM
Burrendong Dam is currently sitting at 136.3% of capacity, which is about a 6% decrease from yesterday.
Outflows from the dam are still being released at a rate of 80,000ML per day.
State Water’s Acting Manager Water Delivery, Scott Barber said that he is comfortable that the dam is at a position to be able to absorb the rainfall that is forecast.
“We have been successful in decreasing the dam storage in anticipation of the rain.
“Overnight we have decreased the level from 142.5% - which is a 6% drop” said Mr Barber.
The inflows into the dam have also eased to 30,000ML per day.
Mr Barber also added that staff on site at Burrendong had commented that all plant and equipment was operating well.
“Reports from the staff on site at the dam indicate that operations of the dam infrastructure are running smoothly” Mr Barber said.
