Decrease in outflows from Burrinjuck Dam

Burrinjuck Dam spilling7 December 2010 – 4:30PM

Outflows from Burrinjuck Dam have decreased to 23,000 per day as of 3pm this afternoon.

The outflows will decrease even further to 12,700ML per day at 6pm tonight.

State Water Acting Manager Water Delivery Scott Barber said that the decrease is due to sufficient airspace in the dam.

“We have already gained 42GL of airspace in the dam, which is well on track to our target of 50GL airspace.

“We are hoping to reach the 50GL target either later tonight or early tomorrow” said Mr Barber.
