Keepit Dam decreasing outflows
8 December 2010 – 10:30AM
Due to a large decrease in inflows into Keepit Dam, outflows have been reduced to 1,800ML per day
The dam is currently at 95% of capacity, which means that the dam is in a good position to absorb the rainfall forecast for the end of the week.
The current inflows into the dam are around 3,000ML per day.
State Water Acting Water Delivery Manager Scott Barber said that the dam staff were satisfied with the level of the dam.
“At this stage, Keepit Dam is in a positive position, particularly to capture the forecast rain” said Mr Barber.
Mr Barber added that all reports from the dam staff on site indicate that operations are running smoothly.
“The dam infrastructure is operating well, and the guys are monitoring the situation closely. At the moment, everything seems to be working to plan,” he said.
