Update on Burrinjuck

Burrinjuck Dam spilling3 December 2010

State Water has moved to match water releases from Burrinjuck Dam with water coming into the storage to make way for further possible inflows.

Water releases from the spillway will now increase to a rate of 180,000ML/day.

State Water’s acting water delivery manager Scott Barber said the storage was currently at 107% of capacity.

“Our team is constantly monitoring the inflows and outflows to the storage to best manage these high volumes of water,” Mr Barber said.

“We will continue to track the levels and adjust flows if required.

“The dams are designed for flood mitigation and our staff are very experienced in managing high levels of water.”
