CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT AT STATE WATER

23 March 2011

Acting CEO, Michael JefferyThis week State Water Corporation CEO George Warne announced he has accepted an agribusiness role in the private sector, starting in May.

In the interim, General Manager Major Projects Michael Jeffery will be taking on the role of Acting CEO until the recruitment process takes place.

Mr Warne began working with State Water in late 2007, and in his time has implemented many services and processes that have revolutionised the way in which the organisation interacts with customers – including the introduction of a dedicated customer call centre, and the Internet Water Accounting System (iWAS).

“I have enjoyed my work and the shared sense of purpose with the whole team at State Water since I joined as CEO. I am very proud of the combined achievements of the Board, management team, and the entire state-wide workforce of the organisation,” said Mr Warne.

Chairman of the board Tony Wright thanked George Warne for his significant contribution to State Water during his time as CEO.

“George has successfully steered State Water through an extensive reform and rebuilding process to become a much more efficient and effective water corporation.

“On behalf of the State Water board, I would like to thank George for his hard work and extend our best wishes for the future” Mr Wright said.

Mr Warne will formally hand over to Mr Jeffery in late April.
