Dams and water on member's agenda

Troy Grant visits head officeNSW Member for Dubbo Troy Grant heard the latest on water management and dam operations when he visited State Water Corporation’s head office on Tuesday, 19 April 2011.\

Since State Water is one of the region’s largest businesses and has responsibility for dam operation across regional NSW, Mr Grant said he was eager to learn more about the corporation.

“I met with State Water CEO George Warne and some of the staff to hear about the general operations of the corporation as well as Burrendong Dam and the multi-million dollar upgrade taking place out there,” Mr Grant said.

“State Water is continuting to work towards increasing the proportion of staff in rural and regional NSW and is supportive of the Evo-Cities program as well.

“I also had the opportunity to learn more about their successful policy to move their entire IT team from Sydney to Dubbo and other intiaitives to retain people in the region.”

Customer service improvements were also discussed, as were current projects such as remote operation and asset upgrades.
