Minister visits Hume Dam

State Water Manager Maintenance and Services Glenn Baker, NSW Water Commissioner David Harriss, State Water Hume Asset Team Leader Tim Tanner and NSW Minister for Primary Industries Katrina Hodgkinson at Hume DamWhile touring the Hume Dam on Tuesday afternoon, NSW Minister for Primary Industries Katrina Hodgkinson was impressed by new filter and drainage system works which are nearing completion.

The works are the first phase of a $60 million suite of improvements to bring the dam in line with contemporary best practice and improve its capacity to withstand extreme floods and earthquakes.

The improvement works are being managed by State Water Corporation and are funded through the Murray Darling Basin Authority by the partner governments of Australia, NSW, Victoria and South Australia representing a substantial investment in the region.
