IPART audit notes ongoing improvement
9 February 2012
State Water Corporation’s ongoing improvement in water delivery, asset management and customer services have been noted in the Independent Pricing And Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) annual audit.
In measuring State Water’s performance against the requirements of its operating licence between June 2010 and June 2011 IPART found the corporation’s overall “level of compliance has improved further.”
The report, presented to the NSW Government, reads;
“Historically State Water has achieved a sound level of compliance with its operating licence showing continual improvement in the audit grades. State Water’s level of compliance has improved further in 2010-11.
“Significant progress has been made in areas such as bulk water delivery operations, asset management and performance indicator reporting.
“Improvements in compliance for obligations relating to environmental management, memoranda of understanding requirements and customer rights/consultation were also noted.”
State Water CEO Brett Tucker said the report reflected the corporation’s extensive efforts to improve performance in all areas of operation.
“This is a very satisfying report in that it reflects our priority areas of improvement such as water delivery and interaction with our customers, the management of our $3.5Billion asset base and our environmental obligations,” Mr Tucker said.
“The rigid compliance guidelines and high standards expected of State Water mean this result is quite outstanding. However I am determined that there will be no relaxation of our focus on continuous improvement. The areas for further attention identified in the IPART report will be acted upon as a priority.”
