Fish Superhighways Program

Marebone WeirFish Superhighways is the largest fish passage restoration program in Australia and seeks to secure fish passage throughout waterways in regional NSW.

Australian fish are dependent on migration to breed as adults, find habitat and seek refuge during droughts. State Water has worked with Industry and Investment NSW to develop the Fish Superhighways program  to reduce some of the barriers to fish passage that exist throughout waterways in regional NSW including structures such as weirs, culverts and floodgates.
