Location: 50 km North West from Warren The new fishway at Marebone Weir
Project cost: $3.5 million
Funding: NSW Rivers Environmental Restoration Progam
Construction start: October 2009 
Completion: September 2011
Description: Construction of a vertical-slot fishway and regulator

Benefits

  • Opens up an additional 214km of Macquarie River to native fish
  • New regulator provides water flow to attract fish
  • Assists native fish to seek further river reaches to spawn, feed and seek refuge
  • Includes carp separation cage to reduce carp numbers
