Macquarie, Gwydir, Lachlan Water Savings Project
The project forms part of the sub-program called ‘better delivery of environmental water’, which itself contributes to the NSW Rivers Environmental Restoration Programme (RERP).
Overview
- Assess the quantum of potential water savings in the Gwydir, Macquarie and Lachlan River systems through improved metering, real-time data acquisition, structure automation, improved river operation efficiency, installation of new hydrometric stations, and use of en-route storages
- Divert the resulting water savings towards environmental flows to help restore environmental values and assets in the targeted catchments, particularly threatened wetlands Read more
