Murray-Lower Darling Valley

State Water delivers water to customers in the Murray-Lower Darling River System, including downstream of Hume Dam, Menindee Lakes and along the Lower-Murray River from it's junction with the Murrumbidgee River to the border with South Australia.

In cooperation with the Murray-Lower Darling Customer Service Committee, State Water works to improve water delivery efficiencies and customer service for all water users.

As of 1 July 2006, formal water ordering is being introduced for customers.

New penalties will apply to customers who fail to lodge written water orders prior to extracting water in the Murray and Lower Darling Valleys. To help customers with the change in water ordering procedures we have developed facts sheets and a step-by-step guide.

Customers can also talk to their local Customer Service Officer about the changes or get further information from their Customer Service Committee representative.

Water ordering is standard practice in other valleys in NSW and the introduction of water ordering by forms will bring the Murray and Lower Darling customers into line with best practice operations.
