Temporary Transfer Forms

Temporary transfer of water is the transfer of allocated water from one Licence to another Licence. Transfers of water may be initiated by the licence holders and/or a water broker. State Water makes a determination on temporary transfer applications and if approved, the transfer is registered. Unlike Permanent transfers, which deal with water Entitlements or shares, a Temporary transfer deals with actual physical quantities of water.

NB: Where a river has a Water Sharing Plan, then the correct form is an Allocation Assignment Form

Your Customer Service Officer can assist you with a Temporary water transfer.

Conditions of Temporary Transfers within a Valley:
  1. There must be water available in your water account balance to transfer to a buyer.
  2. A conforming application must be lodged with your State Water Customer Service Officer with all details and transfer application fees. The Temporary Transfer Form for your valley can be downloaded below, in a pdf format.
  3. The processing time for a transfer application depends on availability of information on account balance and possible impacts of the transfer on other users. The turn around time is usually five working days.
