Bulk Water Pricing
|
|
New prices for water come into effect on 1 October 2006, following the release of IPART’s Final Determination on bulk water charges. This means for regulated water users, your first bill with the new charges will be sent to you in January 2007. |
| |
Water charges cover State Water’s costs of maintaining and operating infrastructure, as well as the cost of delivery services. These costs typically do not change with the volume of water available for delivery. Water charges also cover the Department of Natural Resources’ resource management costs, which also do not change with the volume of water available. |

In October 2005, State Water lodged a bulk water pricing submission for the period from 2006-07 to 2008-09 with the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART). In September 2006, IPART handed down a four-year bulk water pricing determination for 2006-2010. The final determination is on the IPART website: www.ipart.nsw.gov.au .
